Free ASIC Miners
So something screwed up on my order and I ended up getting two free asic block erupters... so now I have a total of 8 doing about 2.69 GH/s, so minting about 0.0011 per day.

4 Miners Came Today
So four of the six miners came in the mail today. They are all the new silver colour. These things run so friggin hot there should be a fire hazard warning. I'm still expecting 2 more Sapphire Block Erupters, a USB Fan, and a USB Hub in the mail. I'm currently doing about 1.34 GH/s minting about 0.0006 BitCoin per day... so I'm earning about 42 cents a day with the current market and didn't pay anything, since the 4 were Christmas presents. Plus I don't pay a power bill, so that's always a bonus.

420 Views / 6 ASIC Miners in the Mail / 3 Hours Lost
Today LuceyBit got her 420th page view, funny since I own the Canadian Cannabis Network on Facebook (http://www.fb.com/canadiancanabis/). I also have 6 USB ASIC Sapphire Miners in the mail. They should start arriving in 2 - 19 days. Remember that I got 4 of them as Christmas presents so I ended up only paying $230 for all 6 + a USB Fan + a USB 3.0 Hub. I also lost 3 hours on stats of work because of a computer reboot. I was hashing at about 8-9 mh/s, now I'm back up to 11.40.

My First Personal Investment
I made an order on Amazon.ca today. I ordered a 7 port USB 3.0 Hub and 2 Sapphire Block Erupters for a total of $230 with shipping and handling. $75 for the USB Hub and $155 for the 2 block erupters ($78 each). So I'm going to be totaling in hardware costs now.

So my computer was running all night but I don't have a run time because I reset it before looking at it. My Mhash/s has been dropping, I'm going to try a system reboot.

More BitMinter Connection Issues
I was just looking at the mining software and it says I couldn't connect between 12:52 PM and 2:20 PM.
Well my computer crashed the other night so I lost track of some of my coin count to run time. But here's the latest stats anyways....

I also noticed that since bitcoin changes in price, I should calculate a drop or increase in Canadian dollar value. I'll start doing that next time.

Over Paying for ASIC Miners?
So I was talking on the chat room over at slush's pool the other night and they were telling me that I over paid for my ASIC Sapphire USB Miners. I guess one of them just sold a couple for about $55 USD. Now I paid $80 for each of my Sapphires, but lets consider the differences. First of all, my sapphire's are new, not used. So automatically that adds lets say $15 to the total cost. So now were sitting at $70 per sapphire. Now since bitcoin is small in Alberta, add another $10 for shipping and handling..... what do you get? $80. Even buy it now on eBay starts at about $65-70, not including shipping.
He went on to say that they will never pay themselves off. Well running calculators, calculating a 0.61 yearly difficulty drop, they should be making about $45 their first year running. idk, to tell you the truth, don't go on mining pool chat rooms and expect a warm helping hand. All these people are making money and want to make more for themselves and no one else... so do your own research and don't rely on the words of other miners.... chances are they're trying to make you give up so that their difficulty doesn't increase as fast.

BitMinter Connection is Back Online
I tried connecting to BitMinter again this morning, and at first the signal timed out but when I was just about to close it down and go back to slush's pool, it connected and started working. So that's good. I also launched a new Facebook group known as The ACCN (Albertian Crypto-Currency Network) which you can find at http://www.facebook.com/the.accn/

Problems Connecting to BitMinter
I haven't been able to connect to BitMinter since early this morning. I posted on the official Facebook page but so far we haven't been able to figure it out. There was another guy experiencing the same problem who lives in a city an hour from me, so it might be the ISP. I did however manage to get connected to Slush's pool so I'll be mining off that for the night to check stats in the morning to see if its running or not. Right now I'm getting 9.5-10.6 mh/s with guiminer when I was getting 11.40 with bitminter. If I can reconnect to bitminter in the morning, I will be switching pools again. If not, slush's pool here I come.

3 More ASIC Miners
I met up with my uncle Ken today and me and my dad got him interested in bitcoin. I guess he heard a radio show talking about it a while back. He decided to buy me 3 ASIC Miner USB Block Erupters for christmas which is pretty cool. I ordered one new off amazon.ca, and I noticed a new version 3 ASIC Miner for sale for about $10 more, so I ordered 2 of those. Expected delivery is from December 23rd - January 9th. I'll need to order a usb hub and fan soon.
Buy RedFury 2.6 USB ASIC Miner
I've been shopping around for the new redfury 2.6 without much luck in Canada. I've found a few ebay.com links you can check out but things are still quite pricey. I'll probably still be waiting for a price drop before I pick one up, and hopefully a Canadian supplier.
Here's a best price list including shipping and handling for Canadians looking to order.

Merry Christmas to Me
My dad got me a 3TB external hard drive for christmas, but since I don't really need it I got him to order me a ASIC Miner USB Block Erupter today. I got it off Amazon.ca and it cost about $70 plus $13 shipping and handling, I think the total was about $83. My dad is really getting interested in BitCoin the more I show him. He's thinking about buying a Butterfly Labs 25GH/s Miner for about $1,300. It's current pay out is about $3,000 USD per year. He just wants to see how I do first before making a large investment like that.
No ASIC USB Erupters This Month
So I decided on not buying the ASIC USB miners this month. I get paid about 2 weeks early, and it's christmas. So I need to make my money last me a little longer this time around. I'll be leaving Lucey 0.04 running since I'm not paying power, every little penny helps...

Why pay $198 for a ASIC USB 300 MH/s? Why pay $70 for a used ASIC USB 336 MH/s? Get a new ASIC USB Block Erupter 336 MH/s in Canada for $69.99 + shipping.
I was just shopping around on Amazon.ca and I found an ASICMINER Sapphire Block Erupter USB selling for $70 Canadian + about $13 shipping & handling. Currently one of these units will profit about $45.52 a year, so one unit will pay itself off in 1.8 years if you're not paying a power bill.
Buy RedFury 2.6 Online
So I figured out where they're selling the new RedFury 2.6 USB ASIC miners.... you can check out the post over at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=321551.0. I guess they're selling for about 0.32 bitcoin which is equal to about $278.40 Canadian. About $150 more than I expected. I'll probably be waiting for another price drop before ordering one.
I also found them available on eBay.com for about $200, almost $100 cheaper than buying them off bitcoin talk. You can view the link at http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pre-Order-RED-FURY-Bitfury-USB-ASIC-2-2-2-6-Gh-s-Bitcoin-Miner-/131069450482?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e845918f2

New RedFury 2.6 GHs USB Miner
I came across a new USB miner today that seems pretty wicked. It's a 2.6GHs usb stick instead of the 336MHs sticks that I will be ordering. I hear these new sticks go for about $100 USD each but I could be mistaken. I guess they're currently sold out. I'll be looking into these more when I find out a supplier that ships to Canada.

BitCoin Mining Day 1
Well I decided to get into bitcoin mining today. I remember a couple years ago working at walmart, some kid talking about this internet currency known as bitcoin and you could make money off running certain hardware. Well... 2 years later I'm finally getting into running that hardware. My build is going to be known as "Lucey" which is feminine for Lucifer. I'm currently using the BitMinter.com pool and their graphical interface. Currently I'm only mining off my GPU, which is nVidia so it sucks. I guess you could call this "Lucey v0.04". My GPU is a GeForce GT 630 and is only doing about 11.4 Mhps. Not having to worry about a power bill since utilities are included, I'll be making $1.54 Canadian per year. Yep, not much but it's a start for v0.04. Today Lucey's mining balance is 0.00000072 bitcoins (about $0.0007315) and
0.00000162 namecoins.
I was looking on Amazon.ca and I found a few usb asic miners for about $50 each. I'm going to order 3 of them, a usb 3.0 7 port bay, and a usb fan to cool the miners. This will all cost me about $300. With the usb asics, I'll be mining at about 1.0 Ghps which will hopefully make me about $135 a year. So with the current set up it will take me about 2.2 years to pay off the hardware. I'll be ordering this on the 19th.
